The South African Meat Industry Company (SAMIC) has been appointed as assignee in terms of section 2(3) of the Agricultural Product Standards Act (Act No. 119 of 1990), to apply the Regulations regarding the Classification and Marking of Meat intended for Sale in the Republic of South Africa (No. R. 55 of 30 January 2015) at all red meat abattoirs who participate in the voluntary classification and marking of meat system. In terms of section 3(1)(1A) of Agricultural Product Standards Act (Act No. 119 of 1990), SAMIC hereby impose the following fees as approved by the members of the Red Meat Industry Forum at SAMIC's AGM, which will be effective from 1 January 2021:
