(1) | A designated airport shall implement appropriate security controls to ensure that items sold or distributed in a security restricted area do not contain: |
(a) | dangerous devices: |
(b) | prohibited articles; or |
(c) | substances that may compromise aviation security. |
(2) | An air carrier shall implement appropriate security controls to ensure that items sold or distributed on-board its aircraft do not contain dangerous devices, prohibited articles or substances that may compromise aviation security. |
(3) | An air carrier shall ensure implementation of security controls to safeguard all items to be placed in an aircraft hold, including mail and company material from the time they are received until they are delivered to an aircraft. |
(4) | A designated airport and an air carrier shall ensure that items that may compromise aviation security are subjected to appropriate security controls as provided for in its security programme. |
(5) | A designated airport and an air carrier shall introduce measures to ensure that merchandise and supplies introduced into security restricted areas are subjected to security controls, which may include screening. |

(6) | A catering store and a catering supplies service provider shall implement security controls on items intended for carriage on a commercial flight to ensure that such items are protected until loaded onto an aircraft, which may include a supply chain security process and screening. |
