| (1) |
The meteorological service provider shall establish suitable telecommunication facilities, including broadcast systems to enable the exchange or transmission of operational meteorological information through— |
| (b) |
ATSU and rescue coordination centres and the associated aeronautical telecommunications stations. |
| (2) |
A telecommunication facility referred to in subregulation (1) shall be supplemented. where necessary, by other forms of visual or audio communications, for example, closed-circuit television or separate information processing systems. |
| (3) |
A telecommunication facility referred to in subregulation (1) shall permit— |
| (a) |
an air service operator to obtain meteorological information from aerodrome meteorological offices or other appropriate sources; |
| (b) |
the WAFC to supply the required world area forecast system products in IWXXM GML format to aerodrome meteorological offices. meteorological authorities. and other users; |
| (c) |
the supply of meteorological information to an ATSU and search and rescue services; |
| (d) |
communication by direct speech among aerodrome meteorological offices, aeronautical meteorological stations, and ATSU; and |
| (e) |
meteorological offices to exchange operational meteorological information amongst themselves. |
| (4) |
A telecommunication facility between aerodrome meteorological office and, as necessary, aeronautical meteorological station and an ATSU shall ensure that the speed with which the communication can be established is such that the required points may normally be contacted within approximately 15 seconds. |
| (5) |
Telecommunication facilities between an aerodrome meteorological office or an MWO and flight information centres, area control centres, rescue coordination centres, and aeronautical telecommunications stations shall permit— |
| (a) |
communications by direct speech, where the speed with which the communications can be established is in such a way that the required points may normally be contacted within approximately 15 seconds for telephony communication involving switchboard operation; and |
| (b) |
printed communication, when a record is required by the recipients and the message transit time shall not exceed 5 minutes for printed communications involving retransmission. |
