(1) | Candidates who obtain credit or a pass for the ATPL (Aeroplane) (ATPL/A) subjects have 36 months to obtain an Instrument Rating (IR). The ATPL/A subjects will remain valid for a period of 60 months from the date of expiry of the last Instrument Flying Revalidation Check. |
(2) | Candidates who obtained a pass at ATPL/A level under the provisions of the Air Navigation Regulations of 1976 and who have maintained an Instrument Rating are afforded the same privilege as detailed in subparagraph (1) above. |

(4) | Where a candidate has previously passed all ATPL/A theoretical knowledge examinations but was not issued with a CPL/IR within the 36 month period, the amount of credit to be given for the ATPL theoretical knowledge instruction will be at the discretion of the Head of Training of the approved Part 141 ATO. |
