(1) | A co-operative registered in terms of this Act must have a constitution that complies with section 14. |

(2) | A co-operative whose members are required to hold shares must have a constitution that complies with sections 14 and 15. |

(3) | Secondary and tertiary co-operatives and the national apex co-operative must have a constitution that complies with sections 14 and 16. |

(4) | A co-operative may, in addition to the matters listed under section 14(2), adopt any other provision that is not inconsistent with this Act. |

(6) | Every group of persons or co-operatives that intends to register as a co-operative must submit a constitution for the proposed co-operative in the prescribed manner and form to the registrar for registration. |
