(1) |
The Commissioner may appoint any person in the service of the Competition Commission, or any other suitable person, as an inspector. |
(2) |
The Minister may, in consultation with the Minister of Finance, determine the remuneration paid to a person who is appointed in terms of subsection (1), but who is not in the full-time service of the Competition Commission. |
(3) |
An inspector must be provided with a certificate of appointment signed by the Commissioner stating that the person has been appointed as an inspector in terms of this Act. |
(4) |
When an inspector performs any function in terms of this Act, the inspector must— |

(a) |
be in possession of a certificate of appointment issued to that inspector in terms of subsection (3); and |
(b) |
show that certificate to any person who— |
(i) |
is affected by the exercise of the functions of the inspector; and |
(ii) |
requests to see the certificate. |
