In these Directions, any word or expression to which a meaning has been assigned in the Regulations, the National Environmental Management: Biodiversity Act and the TOPS Regulations, bears the meaning so assigned and, unless the context otherwise indicates—

"Disaster Management Act"

means the Disaster Management Act, 2002 (Act No. 57 of 2002);

"National Environmental Management: Biodiversity Act"

means the National Environmental Management: Biodiversity Act, 2004 (Act No. 10 of 2004);

"Regulations"

means the Regulations issued in terms of section 27(2) of the Disaster Management Act and published under Government Notice No. R.480 of Government Gazette No. 43258 of 29 April 2020, as amended by Government Notices Nos. R. 608 of Government Gazette No. 43364 of 28 May 2020, R. 714 of Government Gazette No. 43476 of 25 June 2020, R. 763 of Government Gazette No. 43521 of 12 July 2020, R. 846 of Government Gazette No. 43577 of 31 July 2020, R. 891 of Government Gazette No. 43620 of 17 August 2020, R.999 of Government Gazette No. 43725 of 18 September 2020, and R.1011 of Government Gazette No. 43727 of 20 September 2020, R.1053 of Government Gazette No. 43763 of 01 October 2020, R.1104 of Government Gazette No. 43825 of 21 October 2020, R.1199 of Government Gazette No. 43897 of 11 November 2020, R.1290 of Government Gazette No. 43964 of 03 December 2020, R.1346 of Government Gazette No. 43997 of 15 December 2020, R.1370 of Government Gazette No. 44009 of 17 December 2020, R.1421 of Government Gazette No. 44042 of 24 December 2020, R.1423 of Government Gazette No. 44044 of 29 December 2020, R.1435 of Government Gazette No. 44501 of 29 December 2020, and R.11 of Government Gazette No. 44066 of 11 January 2021; and

"TOPS Regulations"

means the Threatened or Protected Species Regulations issued in terms of section 97(1) of the National Environmental Management: Biodiversity Act and published on 23 February 2007 in Government Notice No. R. 52 of Government Gazette No. 29657.
