An educator shall, within 30 days after entering into matrimony or after his or her marital status has changed, submit a certified copy of the marriage certificate, decree of divorce or death certificate, as the case may be, to the employer: Provided that the employer may in his or her discretion demand the submission of the original certificate or decree.
