The Registrar may refuse to grant a licence for the manufacturing of a firearm unless the manufacturer, at the request of the Registrar, is able to provide proof of compliance of proofing in terms of the Standards Act, 1993 (Act No. 29 of 1993), or in accordance with an internationally accepted standard of proofing.
