An employer must grant an employee family responsibility leave as per the provisions of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, No. 75 of 1997 (as amended). |

The current definition will be extended to include paid time off for "spousal" illness on the following terms and conditions: |

The employee submitting a valid medical certificate. |
