1.1	These Rules are drafted in accordance with:

1.1.1

Section 17 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996, which guarantees the right to picket peacefully and unarmed;

1.1.2

Section 69 of the LRA, which regulates the right of members and supporters of a registered trade union to picket;

1.1.3

The Code of Good Practice on Collective Bargaining, Industrial Action and Picketing;

1.2	Where these Rules are silent, the relevant provisions of the Constitution, LRA and the Codes apply.

1.3	The meaning of terms defined in the LRA apply to the use of the terms in these Rules unless the context indicates otherwise.
