6.5 Deductions from wages - trade union subscriptions

6.5.1

An employer must deduct subscriptions for membership of a trade union party to the Council from the wages of an employee that consents in writing to the deduction.

6.5.2

The subscriptions deducted must be paid to the trade union concerned by the 15th of the month following the month to which the subscriptions relate. The payment to the relevant trade union must include the following details in respect of each employee that is a member of that trade union:

(a)	Name of employer and division or site at which the employee is employed

(b)	Full name;

(c)	Identity number, if available;

(d)	Amount deducted; and

(e)	The period to which the subscriptions relate.
