A 6.1 Disablement under the INCOME CONTINUATION BENEFIT SCHEME
If a MEMBER becomes disabled and qualifies for a disability income benefit in terms of the INCOME CONTINUATION BENEFIT SCHEME, the following shall apply for as long as such disability income benefit remains payable:
(1) | the MEMBER will remain a MEMBER of the FUND, contributions on his behalf will continue to be payable and he will remain entitled to rights ' and benefits in terms of the RULES; and |
(2) | the MEMBER will be deemed to have retired in terms of Rule A 4 on attaining NORMAL RETIREMENT AGE. |
A 6.2 | Cessation of the benefit from the INCOME CONTINUATION BENEFIT SCHEME before the MEMBER'S NORMAL RETIREMENT AGE |
If the disability income referred to in Rule 6.1 ceases to be payable prior to the MEMBER'S NORMAL RETIREMENT AGE, one of the following shall apply, as the case may be:
(1) | the MEMBER shall remain a MEMBER of the FUND, subject to him returning to service; or |
(2) | the MEMBER shall receive a withdrawal benefit in terms of Rule A 3; or |
(3) | if the MEMBER so qualifies, he shall receive a retirement benefit in terms of Rule A 4; or |
(4) | in the event of the MEMBER'S death whilst in receipt of a disability income, benefits in terms of Rule A 5 will be payable. |
