(1) |
Subject to the provisions of subregulation (2), the particulars to be indicated on the label of a container of a liquor product shall be as follows: |
(a) |
The applicable class designation of that liquor product as required in regulation 35. |
(b) |
The alcohol content of that liquor product as required in regulation 36. |
(c) |
The country of origin of that liquor product as required in regulation 37. |
(d) |
The name and address or code number of the responsible seller of that liquor product as required in regulation 38. |
(e) |
The expression "contains sulfites" or "contains sulphites". |

(f) |
The filling date or best before date or production date of that liquor product as required in regulation 38A. |

(g) |
The lot identification of that liquor product as required in regulation 38B. |

(2)
(a) |
The indication of an applicable class designation can, in the case of wine, be omitted from the label until 31 December 2027, unless that wine— |
(i) |
is a skin macerated white, a skin fermented white, a moscato, an extended barrel aged white/gris, a natural pale/non-fortified pale, a method ancestrale, an alternative red/rosé/white, a perlé wine, one of the sparkling wines, a sun wine, a low alcohol wine, a spirit-barrelaged wine or a rosé wine from white wine aged in wooden casks, previously used to age red wine: Provided that the expression “sparkling wine” shall suffice as class designation for any one of the sparkling wines; or |
(ii) |
is a sweet natural wine with a residual sugar content of more than 30 grams per litre, but not a special late harvest or noble late harvest wine. |

(b) |
The indication of the alcohol content on a label shall, except in the case of grape liquor and flavoured grape liquor, only be required in respect of liquor products sold by the responsible seller thereof after 30 June 1992: Provided that labels which were printed before that date and which do not indicate the required alcohol content, may be used until 30 June 1996. |

(c) |
If a liquor product, excluding a liquor product referred to in regulation 37(1)(c) and 37(3), has been produced in the Republic, the indication of the country of origin thereof may be omitted from a label. |

(d) |
The indication of the expression "contains sulfites" or "contains sulphites" on a label is only required if sulphur dioxide occurs in a liquor product in a concentration of more than 10 milligram per litre, measured as total sulphur dioxide. |

(e) |
The indication of the filling date or best before date or production date can, in the case of wine or a spirit in a glass container, be omitted from a label. |

(f) |
The indication of the lot identification is— |
(i) |
only required in respect of a liquor product filled after 30 June 2012; and |
(ii) |
not required for a wine with a certification seal. |
