The Minister of Trade and Industry and Tourism has, after consultation with the council, under section 17(1) of the National Building Regulations and Building Standards Act, 1977 (Act No. 103 of 1977), made the regulations in the Schedule.

Interested persons are invited to lodge with the Director-General, South African Bureau of Standards, Private Bag X191, Pretoria, 0001, any proposals that they may wish to make for the amendment of the regulations. Proposals submitted before 30 June 1994 will, if approved, be incorporated in the next revision of the regulations; subsequent proposals will be considered at regular intervals thereafter.

The attention of interested persons is drawn to the fact that SABS 0400, Code of Practice for the Application of the National Building Regulations, may be obtained from the South African Bureau of Standards at the above address.
