Regulations regarding the Control of the Import of Export of Waste, 2017

Chapter 4 : Decision of the Department

10. Decision

 

(1)        The competent authority must issue a decision in the form of a consent or a refusal.

 

(2) A consent for the import, export or transit of waste must contain the following information:
(a) Name of applicant and their contact details;
(b) Names of the importer and exporter;
(c ) Country of import, export or transit;
(d) Name of receiving waste treatment facility;
(e) Type of waste;
(f) Quantity of waste;
(g) Number of shipments or consignments; and
(h) Validity period for the consent.

 

(3) The consent may include conditions.

 

(4) The consent may be withdrawn in the event of non-compliance with applicable conditions.

 

(5) An application for consent may be refused due to previous non-compliance with these Regulations by the importer or exporter or applicable conditions of any previous consent issued.

 

(6) An application for consent may be refused with reasons.
