The Authority must, in all its activities, aim to—
(a) |
conduct business in a manner designed to achieve the objects of this Act and which does not jeopardise the national interest; |
(b) |
remain financially autonomous; |
(c) |
enable the port users to access the port system in the most efficient way possible; |
(d) |
satisfy all reasonable demands for port services and facilities; |
(e) |
co-ordinate the general activities of the ports; |
(f) |
ensure that orderly, efficient and reliable port services, including safe and secure cargo-storage and cargo-handling facilities, are provided to port users; |
(g) |
promote the development and expansion of port services and facilities elsewhere in the world in collaboration with other countries and international organisations in a manner consistent with the objectives of this Act; |
(h) |
promote and undertake the necessary measures to enhance safety and security of life and property in ports; |
(i) |
integrate biophysical, social and economic issues in all forms of decision-making with regard to port development and operations. |
