(1) | A professional nurse is a person who is qualified and competent to independently practise comprehensive nursing in the manner and to the level prescribed and who is capable of assuming responsibility and accountability for such practice. |
(2) | A midwife is a person who is qualified and competent to independently practice midwifery in the manner and to the level prescribed and who is capable of assuming responsibility and accountability for such practice. |
(3) | A staff nurse is a person educated to practise basic nursing in the manner and to the level prescribed. |
(4) | An auxiliary nurse or an auxiliary midwife is a person educated to provide elementary nursing care in the manner and to the level prescribed. |
(5) | The Minister may prescribe scopes of profession and practice for other categories of nurses contemplated in section 31(2). |
