Annexure A
I, Dr Zwelini Mkhize, Minister of Health, hereby, after consultation with the Advisory Committee, in terms of section 105A of the Occupational Diseases in Mines and Works Act, 1973 (Act No. 78 of 1973) ("the Act "), amend the following amounts appearing in sections 80(2) and 80(3) of the Act so as to increase benefits, with effect from 1 October 2019, as follows:
(a) | the amount representing the person's earnings, specified in section 80(2) of the Act increases from R4 014 (four thousand and fourteen rand) to R4 195 (four thousand one hundred and ninety-five rand) |
(b) | the amount specified in section 80(3) of the Act increases from to R44 767 (forty-four thousand seven hundred and sixty-seven rand) to R46 782 (forty-six thousand seven hundred and eighty two rand) |
(c) | 1 October 2019, being the date on, or after which: |
(i) | an examination to determine the presence, nature and degree of a compensable disease was conducted; or |
(ii) | the first of such examinations, in a series of examinations, commenced; or |
(iii) | a post-mortem examination was partially or wholly conducted on the person who allegedly died of a compensable disease. |
