In these regulations,

"the Act”

means the Machinery and Occupational Safety Act, 1983 (Act No. 6 of 1983), and unless the context otherwise indicates any word or expression to which a meaning has been assigned in the Act shall have the meaning so assigned, and—

"certificate of competency" or "certificate"

means a certificate of competency as a mechanical or an electrical engineer, as the case may be, issued in terms of regulation 2(1);

"Commissioner of Examiners" or "Commission"

means the commission established in terms of regulation 5(1);
