I, Aaron Motsoaledi, Minister of Health, hereby, in terms of Section 62 of the Occupational Diseases in Mines and Works Act, 1973 (Act No. 78 of 1973), increase the levies which are payable from the controlled mines and works in terms of the said Act immediately with effect from 01 July 2015.
Levies will be increased per risk shift performed from an average amount of R5.36 to R6.31 (17.08 %), as recommended by the Advisory Committee of the Compensation Fund and Compensation Commissioner (see the enclosed table).
