Part A: Post-Harvest Treatment and Handling of Specific Perishable Products

52. Compromise product mixes for voyages of less than ten days

 

(1) The Board may, in certain circumstances, permit compromise temperatures and mixed loads of perishable products, but accepts no liability for any quality loss occasioned thereby.

 

(2) Exporters must combine shipments in such a manner, in respect of volume and perishable product type, so that optimum shipping conditions are achieved.

 

(3) Perishable products must be stored prior to loading at the specified shipping temperature. All product must be within the permitted carrying temperature range, with a maximum tolerance of 2.0°C.

 

(4) The compromise temperature and product mixes that may be adopted with the approval of the Board are set out below. These shall only apply to consignments where the maximum time between stuffing perishable product into the container and discharging at the destination does not exceed a period of 8 days.
