The Director-General: Home Affairs must, at the request of another State that is a party to the UN Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons or to an agreement relating to trafficking in persons, verify, within a reasonable time, the legitimacy and validity of travel or identity documents issued or purported to have been issued by the Department of Home Affairs and suspected of being used in the commission of an offence under Chapter 2.
