8. Central Drug Authority

 

(1) CDA members consist of all CDA members, including those from the five Portfolio Committees, independent CDA members appointed by the Minister of Social Development and Representatives of designated National Departments.

 

(2) The CDA may from time to time, invite external experts in an advisory capacity.

 

(3) The CDA Meetings shall be held no less than two times per year.

 

(4) The CDA shall meet not less than twice a year with the DG and not less than twice a year with the Minister.

 

(5) The objectives of the CDA are to:
(a) Guide the overall strategic direction of the CDA;
(b) Give guidance and direction to the CDA Secretariat; and
(c) Ensure that all CDA Secretariat staff members abide by the decisions of the CDA.
