means a mine not directly placed but delivered by artillery, missile, rocket, mortar or similar means, or dropped from an aircraft, excluding mines delivered from a land-based system from less than 500 metres, provided that those mines are used in accordance with Article 6 and other relevant Articles of Amended Protocol II;
