(1) | A parent, primary care-giver, or foster parent is eligible for a care-dependency grant in respect of a care-dependent child if— |
(a) | a medical officer certifies the child as a caredependent child as defined in the Act; |
(b) | the combined annual income of the applicant and his or her spouse, after all the deductions referred to in these regulations are made, does not exceed an amount determined by the Minister by notice in the Gazette; and |
(c) | the income of the child does not exceed twice the annual amount of the care-dependency grant. |
(2) | Despite the provisions of subregulation (1), the income of the foster parent must not be taken into consideration. |
