In these Regulations, any word or expression to which a meaning has been assigned in the Act shall have the meaning so assigned and unless the context otherwise indicates—

"medical practitioner"

means "medical practitioner" as defined in the Health Professions Act,1974 (Act No. 56 of 1974) as amended;

"the Act"

means the Social Assistance Act, 2004 (Act No. 13 of 2004) as amended from time to time;

"2008 Regulations"

means the Regulations made in terms of section 32 of the Social Assistance Act, 2004, relating to the application for and payment of social assistance and the requirements or conditions in respect of eligibility for social assistance, published in Government Gazette No. 31356 dated 22 August 2008, Government Notice No. R. 898 in Government Gazette 8948, as amended;
