(1) | Except where otherwise expressly provided, these charges cover the issue, alteration or endorsement of any relative certificate or other document. |
(2) | A charge of R 1 425 is payable for the issue of a Safe Manning Document under regulation 121(2) of Merchant Shipping (Training, Certification and Safe Manning) Regulations, 2021, as amended. |
(3) | A charge of R 2 850 is payable for the issue of a Safe Manning Document under regulation 121(3) of Merchant Shipping (Training, Certification and Safe Manning) Regulations, 2021, as amended. |
(4) | Where a Safe Manning Document must be issued in line with regulation 97(3) and 97(4) of the Merchant Shipping (Training, Certification and Safe Manning) Regulations, 2021 as amended, a charge of R 1 425 per hour shall be charged, with a minimum fee of R 7 123 payable for issue. |
(5) | Except where otherwise expressly provided, a charge of R 2 850 is payable for the issue of any of the following certificates on the strength of a survey report, risk assessment or calculation provided by a person other than an officer: |
(a) | Safety certificate; Safety Exemption Certificate, IGC Code certificate; IBC Code certificate; BCH Code certificate; Safety Management Certificate or Document of Compliance in ways of ISM; |
(b) | Document of Compliance in ways of IMDG; load line certificate; load line exemption certificate; IOPP certificate; IAPP certificate, INLS certificate; tonnage certificate; pollution safety certificate; or any other statutory or non-statutory certificate. |
(6) | For vessels contemplated under the Merchant Shipping (National Small Vessel Safety) Regulations, 2007 that are surveyed outside of the Republic by a third party; a fee of R 1 425 is payable. |
(7) | Except where otherwise expressly provided, a charge R 638 is payable for the replacement of or for a copy of any other statutory certificate or any other document. |
(8) | Where an exemption certificate is issued based on the survey conducted by a Recognised Organisation, a fee equal to 25% of the charge is applicable. |
(9) | A charge under the Part 4 of this Determination includes the issue of a Certificate of Competency, Proficiency, or Equivalent Competency where a candidate has been successfully assessed. |
(10) | A charge of R 1 425 per hour or part thereof is payable for the amendment of any certificate issued under the Merchant Shipping (Carriage of Cargoes) Regulations, 2004. |
