Seven levels of competence have been described for each subject in the Subject Assessment Guidelines. These descriptions will assist teachers to assess learners and grade them at the correct level. The various achievement levels and their corresponding percentage bands are as shown in Table 1 below.
Teachers/examiners may either work from mark allocation/percentages to rating codes, or from rating codes to percentages.
