The Minister is responsible for enforcing and implementing this Act and the Convention in the Republic, including—
(a) |
after consultation with the relevant provinces and other organs of state concerned, submitting an inventory as described in Article 11 of the Convention; |
(b) |
publishing such particulars as may be prescribed of any new World Heritage Site in the Gazette within a reasonable period of time; |
(c) |
applying to the World Heritage Committee for international assistance in terms of Article 13 and Part V of the Convention; |
(d) |
entering into agreements in terms of Article 13 of the Convention; |
(e) |
making applications to the World Heritage Fund and overseeing the proper use of any financing obtained in terms of the Convention; |
(f) |
preparing reports as required by Article 29 of the Convention after due consultation with the provinces and organs of state concerned; |
(g) |
disseminating information related to the Convention and reports from Convention meetings; |
(h) |
initiating steps regarding research, education, training, awareness raising and capacity building; and |
(i) |
ensuring public participation. |
