Subpart 5 : Meteorological Service for Air Service Operator and Flight Crew Members

174.05.4 Flight documentation

 

(1) The meteorological service provider shall make available to an air service operator and flight crew members' flight documentation containing relevant meteorological information covering an entire route of a flight including flights with a duration not exceeding two hours or those undertaken after a short stop or turnaround.

 

(2) The meteorological service provider shall immediately advise an air service operator whenever it becomes apparent that the meteorological information to be included in the flight documentation will differ materially from the information made available for pre-flight planning and in-flight replanning.

 

(3) Where a need for amendment arises after the flight documentation has been supplied. and before take-off of an aircraft, an aerodrome meteorological office shall issue the necessary amendment or updated information to an air service operator or to a local ATSU, for transmission to an aircraft.

 

(4) The meteorological service provider shall retain information supplied to flight crew members, either as printed copies or i n electronic files, for a period of at least 30 days from the date of issue and made available on request for inquiries or investigations.

 

(5) In the event where the information i s used for an inquiry or investigation, it shall be retained until such inquiry or investigation is completed.

 

(6) Meteorological information to be included in the flight documentation shall comprise information listed in Document SA-CATS 174.
