Subpart 5 : Meteorological Service for Air Service Operator and Flight Crew Members

174.05.6 Meteorological information for ATSU

 

(1) The meteorological service provider shall designate an aerodrome meteorological office or MWO to be associated with each ATSU.

 

(2) An associated aerodrome meteorological office or MWO shall, after coordination with an ATSU, supply, or arrange for the supply of, up-to-date meteorological information to such ATSU as necessary for the conduct of its functions.

 

(3) An aerodrome meteorological office shall be associated with an aerodrome control tower or approach control unit for the provision of meteorological information.

 

(4) The meteorological service provider shall agree with the ANSP if, owing to local circumstances, the duties of an associated aerodrome meteorological office or MWO are to be shared between two or more aerodrome meteorological offices or MWO.

 

(5) Any meteorological information requested by an ATSU in connection with an aircraft emergency shall be supplied as rapidly as possible by an associated aerodrome meteorological office or MWO.
