(1) |
A holder of a flight engineer instructor rating who intends to renew a Grade II flight engineer instructor rating, must, within the 90 days preceding the expiry date of such rating, have— |
(a) |
conducted no less than 50 hours of flight engineer instruction within the three years preceding the date of expiry, of which no less than 30 hours must have been given within the 12 months preceding the expiry date of such rating; or |
(b) |
attended a flight engineer instructor refresher seminar as prescribed in Document SA-CATS 63; and |
(c) |
undergone a skills test referred to in regulation 63.05.5. |
(2) |
A holder of a flight engineer instructor rating referred to in subregulation (1) shall— |
(a) |
provide the Director with a skills test report as prescribed in Document SA-CATS 63; |
(b) |
ensure that an appropriate page of his or her licence is signed by a designated examiner; and |
(c) |
ensure his or her logbook is endorsed by a designated examiner. |
(3) |
If the result of a skills test contemplated in subregulation (1) reveals that a holder of a rating has failed to maintain the minimum standard required to exercise the privileges referred to in regulation 63.05.9, a designated examiner shall— |
(a) |
report such result to the Director; and |
(b) |
not sign any page of a licence of a holder of a rating. |
