Any person who –
| a) |
in or in connection with an application in terms of this Act wilfully furnishes information or makes a statement which is false or misleading; |
| b) |
with intent to defraud alters, defaces, destroys or mutilates any register or document under this Act; |
| bA) |
with intent to defraud, sells any synthetic diamond or enhanced diamond without disclosing that it is a synthetic diamond or an enhanced diamond, as the case may be or falsely declares an unpolished diamond as a synthetic diamond or an enhanced diamond when it is not a synthetic diamond or an enhanced diamond, as the case may be; |
| c) |
falsely gives himself or herself out – |
| i) |
to be the holder of a licence or permit under this Act; |
| ii) |
to be registered as an authorised representative of any juristic person; or |
shall be guilty of an offence.
