Beer

Beer shall—

(a) be produced by the alcoholic fermentation by means of a yeast of wort prepared from starch and sugar containing raw materials with or without the addition of potable water;
(b) contain hops or hop products;
(c) be produced in such a manner that at least 35 per cent of the fermentable extract of the wort is derived from malted barley, malted wheat or other malted grain; and
(d) have a value of at least 4 on the International Bitterness Units scale.

2.

Flavoured beer

Flavoured beer shall be beer as set out under item 1, flavoured by the addition of flavourings allowed under Table 6.
