Chapter 5 : Accreditation of tourist transport operators and related matters

31. Submitting applications to tourism and planning authorities

 

(1) Where the Minister has recognized any tourism authority in terms of section 81(5) of the Act, this must be made known by notice in the Gazette.

 

(2) On receiving an application for accreditation, the NPTR must refer the application to any relevant authority so recognized, as well as the planning authority in whose area the applicant is based, by submitting a notice to it by e-mail, fax or other method it deems appropriate.

 

(3) Those authorities must submit their response to the NPTR by any method approved by the NPTR and stated in the notice, within 14 days of receipt of the notice.

 

(4) If such an authority fails to respond within the time mentioned in subregulation (3), the NPTR must proceed to decide the application without that response in terms of section 81(6) of the Act.

 

(5) It shall not be necessary to submit an application to a tourism authority that has not been recognised by means of a notice published under subregulation (1).
