In these Regulations any expression to which a meaning has been assigned in the Act shall bear such meaning and, unless inconsistent with the content, the following words shall bear the meaning ascribed to them:
“Act”
means the Social Service Professions Act, 1978 (Act No. 110 of 1978);
“Community Development Practitioner”
means a person who is equipped with both theoretical knowledge and the practical skills to facilitate integrated activities that enable households and communities to manage their own socio-economic development and build community resilience;
“member”
means a member of the Professional Board for Community Development Practice;
“Minister”
means the Minister responsible for the Department of Social Development;
"Professional Board”
means Professional Board for Community Development Practice established in terms of Regulation 2; and
“Returning officer”
means the Registrar appointed in terms of section 11 of the Act and managing nominations and elections in terms of these regulations.
