In terms of the National Qualifications Framework Act, No. 67 of 2008, the Department of Higher Education & Training has gazetted the draft Higher Education & Training Further Amendments Bill for stakeholder input. This legislative development follows a notice published on 15 August 2025 in Government Gazette No. 53177 (Regulation Gazette No. 11868, Government Notice No. 6514).

The gazetted notice allows stakeholders until 15 September 2025 to submit written comments on the proposed amendments. The Bill aims to refine the regulatory framework governing qualifications, training standards, and the administrative oversight of higher education institutions.
