The Department of Agriculture has gazetted draft regulations under the Preservation & Development of Agricultural Land Act, 2024, for public comment until 26 May 2026. The Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development has gazetted amendments to the regulations under the Deeds Registries Act, No. 47 of 1937, revising the schedule of fees for various office services. The Department of Agriculture has proposed a total ban on agricultural remedies containing terbufos, effective February 2026, following public health concerns and illegal informal sales. The Department of Agriculture has invited public comment on proposed amendments to regulations under the Liquor Products Act, No. 60 of 1989, concerning the wine of origin scheme and production standards. The Minister of Land Reform and Rural Development has confirmed that the Communal Land Tenure Bill is now expected to be introduced in Parliament in 2027, following further policy delays. The Department of Agriculture, Land Reform & Rural Development has gazetted three sets of draft regulations under the Plant Health (Phytosanitary) Act, No. 10 of 2024, with a comment deadline of 26 October 2025.
