The Financial Intelligence Centre has issued Directive 12 in terms of section 43A of FICA, mandating designated Schedule 1 accountable institutions to submit their Risk Management and Compliance Programmes annually. The Financial Intelligence Centre has published Draft Guidance Note 7B, offering updated regulatory direction for accountable institutions on customer due diligence, beneficial ownership, and compliance management under FICA.
National Treasury has gazetted amendments to the FICA Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Control Regulations, introducing new tracing mechanisms for cross-border cash movements.
