The Special Tribunal has ordered the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC) and associated parties to repay R24.98 million in unlawfully diverted National Lotteries Commission (NLC) grant funding following an investigation under the Special Investigating Units and Special Tribunals Act, No. 74 of 1996. The South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP) and the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) have partnered to strengthen the prosecution of offences under the Architectural Profession Act, No. 44 of 2000. The Special Tribunal has granted a preservation order freezing a R2.7 million property linked to fraudulent Covid-19 Temporary Employee/Employee Relief Scheme (TERS) claims.
