FIC to Upgrade goAML Platform for Accountable Institutions
Brought to you by SA Accounting Academy: The Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) has issued a notice regarding a scheduled upgrade to the goAML platform, which serves as the primary interface for registration and regulatory reporting.
In terms of the Financial Intelligence Centre Act, No. 38 of 2001, the FIC has confirmed that the goAML platform will undergo a substantive upgrade on 15 September 2025. This platform is the mandatory portal through which accountable institutions, reporting persons, and supervisory bodies fulfill their statutory obligations to register with and report to the Centre.
The upgrade is designed to expand the suite of tools available to stakeholders and improve the overall user experience. According to the FIC, the enhanced system will provide more efficient filtering and categorisation of information, thereby strengthening the Centre’s compliance monitoring and preventative analysis capabilities.
The FIC noted that various stakeholders have already participated in user acceptance testing and engagement sessions to facilitate a smooth transition. Additional information sessions are expected to be conducted prior to the implementation date. Accountable institutions are encouraged to review available resources to ensure their internal systems and reporting processes align with the new platform enhancements.
