National Treasury: MCS Interim Financial Statements Template 2025/2026
Brought to you by SA Accounting Academy: The National Treasury has released the updated reporting template for national and provincial departments to facilitate the preparation of interim financial statements for the 2025/2026 cycle.
In accordance with the Public Finance Management Act, No. 1 of 1999, the Office of the Accountant-General (OAG) has issued the Interim Financial Statements (IFS) template for use by all national and provincial departments. These entities are required to compile their interim financial reports in alignment with the Modified Cash Standard (MCS).
The template provides the Specimen Interim Financial Statements for the financial year ending 31 March 2026. It is designed to ensure consistency in reporting across the public sector and to assist departments in meeting their statutory reporting obligations.
