Adjustments Appropriation Act and Fiscal Legislation Signed into Law

Posted 12 February 2026 Written by Acts Online

Brought to you by SA Legal Academy: The President has signed three key fiscal Bills into law, including the Adjustments Appropriation Act, 2025/26, following their passage through Parliament.

In terms of the legislative process following the Medium Term Budget Policy Statement (MTBPS), the Adjustments Appropriation Act, 2025/26 was gazetted to formalise revised expenditure for the current financial year. Although the official gazetting occurred after normal business hours—potentially on 13 February 2026—the Act provides for the appropriation of money by Parliament from the National Revenue Fund to meet the revised requirements of the State.

These legislative developments ensure that departmental allocations are aligned with the updated economic outlook and expenditure priorities outlined during the MTBPS. The signing of these Acts concludes the formal legislative cycle for the mid-year budget adjustments. The suite of legislation includes:

  • The Adjustments Appropriation Act, 2025/26, which authorises revised expenditure across national votes; and
  • Two additional fiscal measures related to the MTBPS revenue and allocation framework.
