The Department of Communications & Digital Technologies has extended the deadline for public comment on the draft White Paper on Audio and Audiovisual Media Services (AAVMS) and Online Safety to 26 September 2025. ICASA has released two sets of draft regulations under the Electronic Communications Act, No. 36 of 2005, covering digital terrestrial television services and numbering plan amendments, with comments due by 11 August 2025. The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) has released its findings following an inquiry into the impact of load shedding on the electronic communications and broadcasting sectors. The Department of Communications & Digital Technologies has invited public comment on a draft policy directive under the Electronic Communications Act, 2005, regarding ICT investment and B-BBEE.
